It is all the information I wish I had when I first started writing music.
It is 20 years of information put into a single actionable book/challenge.
Now if you are looking to speed up your music production process even more, I would highly recommend getting these templates
Their are going to be things that you have to set up every session that just get in the way of creating music.
Creating Vocal/Instrument/Drum Tracks
Setting up your reverb sends
Getting your plugin chain set up correctly on all of your tracks (EQ, Compressor, Etc)
Creating your sub-mixes so you can easily mix as you are writing
I built a new session for every song and mix I was doing.
This meant that every time I was writing a new song or working on a new commercial mix, all of my tracks were in random places.
I was forgetting to add basic instruments and sound fx like risers and drones.
I was struggling to manuever around my session because I didn't have any markers set up to visually show where the verses, choruses and bridge were.
My music and mixes were worse because I was not developing a system.
This went on for way too long...
And it wasn't until one of my mentors that I mentioned sat me down and showed me how he built his sessions.
My mind was blown. He was operating 100+ track session with ease because he always knew where the lead vocals were, where the guitars were, where the tom drums were.
He made it so he never had to think about adding in tools that he would use in every session.
The vocals had Hi and Low octave sends set up to make them sound thicker.
All of the instruments (Besides Bass and Kick) and the lows taken out with an EQ the moment he would boot up his session.
It took 8 hours but at the end of the day I had something that I would use every day.
And it sped up my workflow faster than any expensive computer or new plugin.
But their was a problem.
So over the course of the next 3 years, every time I ran into a problem, every time I would learn a new production/mixing technique, I would create a note.
And once a quarter I would go into my template and update it with all the changes I would want to make.
This template is the combination of years of learning and work to make my ability to create and mix music as fast as possible
