The Modern Music Learning Cycle.
I want to tell you the story of Jerry.
Jerry wanted to learn how to play guitar, so he found a local guitar teacher.
This teacher has been playing for decades.
Has a degree in music.
And hasn't written an original song since a time where most people didn't know what the word "pandemic" even meant.
Jerry's guitar teach was like most music teachers...
Jerry would learn a song.
Then, as soon as he could squawk the notes out like a parrot...
He moved onto the next song.
Jerry was on his way to becoming a great player, but he had no idea how to actually write music.

Sure, Jerry got lucky.

Then after a couple of months of lessons, Jerry quit.
And as Jerry's instrument was gathering dust in the corner of the room he remembered his dream of writing songs like his favorite artists...

So his guitar stayed still collecting dust.
Just another object to move from college dorm, to apartment, to house, to house.
Until it was finally sold to his local music store.
