Now something you might not know about me is that I took two years off of sound mixing and music to live in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I switched careers into marketing and learned as much as I could in that time.
I ended up helping my clients generate over 10 million dollars in deal flow.
And I created a "marketing hub" for each client so that we we could stay organized.
When I came back to the music industry I realized just how broken marketing int he music industry was.
You used to be able to run ads to your shows and music profitably but over the bast two years the cost of ads have doubled.
Here is how much more competitve digital marketing has gotten over the past two years...
In the past year Facebook's cost per ad has went up 89%
TikTok's cost per ad has gone up 94%
34 million videos are uploaded to TikTok per day
100,000 songs are uploaded to Spotify every day (18 Months ago it was 70,000)
This is something every industry is dealing with, but musicians are getting hit extremely hard because what we sell, music, is paying less and less as the cost of ads go up year by year.

Their is more content than ever before that you are competing with
This means that the song you will spend the next 40 days on will likely be buried in the sea of content.
And if you want to spend money on ads to get that song heard, the liklihood of you ever making that money back is getting worse and worse as the cost of ads go up and the pay per stream goes down.
But it isn't all doom and gloom, you just ned to be a bit more strategic with your marketing.

You can earn attention by connecting with people and outlets with a bigger following than what you have.
